Excursion to Ait ben Haddou - One day

This day trip will take you across the High Atlas chain through the Tizi N'Tichka pass - an imposing landscape of the high mountains and traditional Berber villages. The descent along the east side of the chain offers a sudden change in the lush landscape to an arid, desert panorama. In Ouarzazate, visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and Taourirt Kasbah. Departure at 7 am from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech to the desert via the highest road pass in Morocco 2260m, the Tizi N'tichka , a stop on the way to take pictures.

Continuation to Telouet visit the kasbah Glaoui (sometimes also called Palace of Glaoui, is a kasbah built between the nineteenth and twentieth century, its most famous occupant is probably Thami El Glaoui).

Then the Ounila valley (This valley was a must for caravans between Marrakech and Ouarzazate, and is an extraordinary environment. Throughout the valley, a striking contrast between the ocher of the earth and rocks and greenery plantation is open to hikers who take the time to observe it) until Ait Ben Haddou, visit of Ksar Ait Ben Haddou (one of the most famous of southern Morocco, is now classified heritage of humanity by Unesco. This ksar was built a few centuries on a hill to escape the invasions of foreign tribes. you have to climb up to the attic in ruins and admire the view on the ksar on the palm grove and the desert surrounding stones. This walled city to desert air. in fact only a few families still live there
